CHICAGO, Illinois --- June 12th, 2007 --- Richter Studios was recently awarded two top honors for its efforts on the Pinehurst Golf Resort Virtual Tour. The company won a Gold Award from both the Horizon Interactive Awards, in the Self Promotion/Company Identity category, and the Aurora Awards, in the Promotional category.

The Pinehurst Golf Resort Virtual Tour featured over 70 videos that were filmed, edited, and animated by Richter Studios. The experience was developed in Flash and included interviews and instructional videos from members of the Pinehurst staff. All eight golf courses, the spa, restaurants, hotels and general amenities were covered in depth for the Tour. In addition to a hole-by-hole overview of the legendary Course No. 2, highlights from the 1999 and 2005 US Opens were also included. Richter Studios also created an interactive 3D virtual map animation for key areas of the resort, providing viewers with a unique geographic perspective of the Pinehurst experience.

The Horizon Interactive Awards is a prestigious international competition recognizing outstanding achievement among interactive media producers. In January of each year, the Horizon Interactive Awards receives hundreds of entries from across the globe. Providing a level playing field for projects from companies of all size, a panel of industry professionals, from diverse multi-media, graphic design and marketing backgrounds, review the entries to determine the work that needs to be recognized. Entries are given either a Gold, Silver, Bronze, and in some cases honorable mention award distinctions. All Gold winners are eligible for the Best of Category and Best of Show award (the Horizon Interactive Awards’ highest honor).

The Aurora Awards is an international independent film and video competition for commercials, cable programming, documentaries, industrial, instructional, and corporate videos. Named after, and inspired by, the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis, the Awards celebrate the ability of media creators around the world to captivate audiences with their creative displays of color and light. Competitors come from the independent, corporate, and freelance production realms, advertising agencies, and broadcast stations, large and small. Entries have come from across the US and abroad, including Russia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia, and Mexico. The judging functions are performed by panels of working film and video professionals that are set up in major cities across the country, most of whom which are past Aurora Award winners.
